Terms, privacy & licenses

Last updated: 19 August 2026 · applies to this website (cameoconstruct.xyz) and the Cameo project.

The short version

  • Open source. The Cameo software is licensed under Apache 2.0. Use it, fork it, ship it — keep the notices.
  • No tracking. This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, has no accounts or forms, and collects no personal data.
  • Independent project. Cameo is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by AMD, Arch Linux, the Khronos Group, Meta, or any other trademark owner named here.
  • As-is. Cameo is pre-release software provided without warranty. Run it at your own risk, especially the disk installer.

The sections below are the full terms. Where they conflict with this summary, the full text controls.

01Terms of use

By accessing cameoconstruct.xyz (the “Site”) you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

The Site vs. the software

These Terms govern your use of the website — its pages, text, and graphics. Your use of the Cameo software is governed separately by its open-source license (see Open-source licenses), not by these Terms.

Acceptable use

You may view, share, and link to the Site. You agree not to: (a) attempt to breach or probe the Site’s security or disrupt its availability; (b) scrape or reproduce the Site’s design or written content wholesale as your own; or (c) use the Site to break any applicable law.

Site content

Unless a file states otherwise, the written copy and visual design of the Site are © the Cameo maintainers. The Cameo source code (including this site’s source) is offered under the Apache 2.0 license. Third-party names, logos, and marks remain the property of their owners (see Trademarks).

External links

The Site links to third-party sites (e.g. GitHub, documentation, package repositories). We do not control and are not responsible for their content, policies, or availability.

Availability

The Site is provided on an “as available” basis. It is a pre-release project and may change, break, or go offline at any time without notice.

02Privacy

We designed this Site to need as little of your data as possible. As currently published, it is a static website:

  • It sets no cookies and uses no local/session storage for tracking.
  • It runs no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party trackers or pixels.
  • It has no accounts, logins, comment threads, or contact forms, so we do not ask for or store your name, email, or any personal information.
  • The only third-party request the page makes is to Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com) to load its typefaces; that request is subject to Google’s privacy policy and may expose your IP address to Google. Fonts can be self-hosted to remove this if desired.

Server logs

Our hosting provider (for the production site, Cloudflare Pages) may automatically process standard technical data — such as your IP address, user-agent, and requested URL — transiently to serve the Site, guard against abuse, and keep it online. This processing is performed by the host under its own privacy and data-processing terms; we do not build profiles from it.

Your rights

Because we do not collect or store personal data ourselves, there is nothing for us to access, correct, or delete. If that changes — for example if we add analytics or a form — we will update this policy first and, where required (EU/UK/California and similar), provide the appropriate notices and choices.

This policy describes the Site only. It does not cover the Cameo software you install and run on your own hardware, which stays on your machines and phones home to nothing unless you configure it to.

03Trademark notice

Cameo is an independent, community project. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, authorized by, or endorsed by any of the companies or projects below. Their names and marks are used only nominatively — to describe, truthfully, what hardware and software Cameo works with.

All trademarks, service marks, and product names are the property of their respective owners, including:

  • AMD, Radeon, Ryzen, and ROCm — trademarks of Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.
  • Vulkan — a trademark of the Khronos Group Inc.
  • Linux — a registered trademark of Linus Torvalds. Arch Linux — a trademark of its respective owner.
  • Llama — a trademark of Meta Platforms, Inc. Qwen — a mark of Alibaba Group. Model names are referenced illustratively.
  • Kubernetes — a trademark of The Linux Foundation. Cloudflare and Cloudflare Pages — trademarks of Cloudflare, Inc.
  • llama.cpp, GGUF, and ggml — projects/marks of their respective maintainers.

Cameo” and the Cameo mark refer to this project. Use of any third-party mark here does not imply any partnership or endorsement in either direction. If you own one of these marks and would like a correction to how it is presented, please contact us.

04Open-source & third-party licenses

Cameo software

The Cameo project — the cameo CLI, the cameod daemon, the Rust core, the ISO profile, and the source of this website — is licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0. A copy ships in the repository as LICENSE. You may use, modify, and redistribute it under those terms; retain the copyright and license notices.

Fonts

This Site displays open-source typefaces under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, loaded via Google Fonts:

ComponentAuthorLicense

IBM Plex Sans / MonoIBMSIL OFL 1.1

Bundled & downstream software

The Cameo OS image and containers assemble software from the Arch Linux ecosystem and upstream projects — including the Linux kernel and amdgpu driver, Mesa/Vulkan userspace, ROCm, llama.cpp/ggml, and PyTorch — each under its own license (GPL-2.0, MIT, Apache-2.0, BSD, and others). Those licenses govern those components; consult each project for its terms. Cameo does not relicense any third-party software.

05Disclaimer & limitation of liability

No warranty. The Site and the Cameo software are provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. Cameo is pre-release software.

Hardware & data risk. Cameo detects hardware, tunes low-level settings, serves models over the network, and includes a disk installer that can erase a drive. You are responsible for backing up your data, understanding what a command does before running it, and operating your own hardware and network safely. Run the installer’s dry run and read it before committing.

Limitation of liability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Cameo maintainers and contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of data, hardware, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the Site or the software — even if advised of the possibility. This section does not limit any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

06Changes & contact

We may update these terms as the project evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “last updated” date. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the revised terms.

Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING-LAW JURISDICTION], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts located there shall have jurisdiction, except where mandatory local consumer law provides otherwise.

Contact. Questions about these terms, privacy, or trademark use: [CONTACT-EMAIL]. Security reports are welcome at the same address. Project and source: github.com/korbin/cameo.
